SWAN Debug Logs

Understanding SWAN Debug Logs

When you enable the -debugreq option, EHANDBOOK Container-Build generates detailed SWAN debug logs.

These logs help you understand how SWAN analyzes the C-Code and resolves dependencies during container generation.

SWAN is a library used by EHANDBOOK Container-Build to analyze C-Code, resolve dependencies, and generate the interactive model.

Common SWAN Terms

Term Description

GLOBAL_DEFS

Global variables and functions that are defined in the source files.

GLOBAL_REFS

References to global variables and functions used in the source code.

RESOLVED_REFS

References that are successfully matched with their definitions.

UNBOUND_REFS

References that cannot be matched with any definition. This usually happens when source files, header files, or libraries are missing.

Common SWAN Messages

Message Description

Terminating loop exception

Indicates that SWAN has finished resolving dependencies. This is an informational message and not an error.

Missing System Constants

Indicates that a required system constant could not be resolved. Check that all required header files, macros, and configuration files are available.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues in the SWAN debug logs:

  • For UNBOUND_REFS, verify that all required source files, header files, and libraries are available.

  • For Missing System Constants, verify that all required header files, macros, and configuration files are included.

  • Review the complete debug log to identify missing dependencies or configuration issues.
