Known Issues in EHANDBOOK Container-Build
General
Issues with model path containing special characters
Screenshots and model linking will be missing for Simulink subsystem names containing back slashes or forward slashes. Model linking will be missing for Simulink subsystem or ASCET hierarchy names containing dots.
Broken Image for Empty Hierarchies During SVG Generation
When generating SVGs, if the specified model path points to a hierarchy that contains no internal blocks, the output may result in a broken image.
Unexpected spacing in AsciiDoc table cells
AsciiDoc table cells containing multiple paragraphs may display additional vertical spacing at paragraph and cell boundaries. This can result in inconsistent spacing within the table and affect the visual layout of the generated documentation. Technical details: The issue occurs when paragraph blocks are generated/wrapped inside AsciiDoc table cells using the a| cell style, resulting in additional spacing at block boundaries.
Virus Scanner Interference
When running EHANDBOOK Container Build on Windows with an A2L file the generation may fail due to a virus scanner, e.g. Windows Defender, which is delaying the execution of an underlaying component. A later attempt works fine after the virus scanner has completed its work.
MATLAB Simulink
Simulink blocks with "Show Block Name" option set to "Auto" are always shown
For Simulink blocks when "Auto" mode is on, block names are always shown. This behavior might be different when compared to Simulink.
Display issues with Simulink Annotation blocks
Simulink Annotation blocks with rich text formatting might look a bit blurred or fuzzy in the documentation when the used text font is small or annotation block is generated without enabling rich text extraction option. For details refer Simulink rich text annotations as text.
When styling is applied for the text of Simulink annotation blocks, the displayed text might have different appearance. There are certain limitations in the rendering of the following stylings:
-
Right alignment of text
-
Table appearance
-
Hidden text due to overlapping whitespaces
Text from Simulink mask is not searchable or clickable
Since Simulink masked blocks are displayed as raster images, the text within them is neither searchable nor clickable in EHANDBOOK.
Following mask content supports searching and measuring:
-
Port labels defined as part of the mask. For more details, refer: Mask Port labels in Simulink
-
Constant values defined as a mask parameter in 'Constant blocks'. For more details, refer: Support for mask parameters in Simulink Constant blocks
Masked Constant Blocks may show Unique name instead of Block Name in Label Popup
In a Simulink 'Constant' block, the 'Constant value' parameter can be exposed as a mask parameter. During a Container-Build run with MATLAB connection enabled, this masked value is assigned as the block’s Unique Name.
As a result, all labels associated with this block display the Unique Name in the label popup in EHANDBOOK instead of the actual block name.
Example: A Constant block named 'Constant1' with the Constant value set to 'TestConstantMaskBlock' shows 'TestConstantMaskBlock' in the label popup instead of 'Constant1'.
PDF generation failure
Provide output directory name and path (-o option) case sensitive that is in sync with OS. If case insensitive, PDF generation fails.
Partial SVG image support
PDF generation only supports a subset of SVG elements. As a result, some SVG images may not render correctly in the generated PDF output.
